Serena joined the Workplace Research Centre in March, 2009 from Macquarie Bank in Sydney. A quantitative research analyst since 2002, Serena has extensive research experience in statistical modelling with application to equities investment, market volatility, and financial markets more broadly. Serena qualified as an Associate in the Institute of Actuaries Australia in 2003, and as a Chartered Financial Analyst in 2005, and her area of specialist knowledge relates to the Australian equities market, returns and volatility modelling, and quantitative investment processes. Her key research interests include the performance and regulation of the financial markets, comparative approaches to education and skills policy, and the management of work-life balance issues. Since commencing at the Workplace Research Centre, Serena has contributed to projects spanning skills policy in Australia, the performance of superannuation funds, and the development of the disability services workforce.
