Prior to joining the WRC in 2009, Linda worked as a research psychologist at the NSW Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research (BoCSAR), examining the link between alcohol and crime.  She has conducted large scale studies with both the NSW Police Service and NSW Health, and studied the efficacy of NSW responsible service of alcohol legislation.  Following this, Linda worked on the staff of Federal Government Minister Senator John Faulkner during his terms as Cabinet Secretary, Special Minister of State, and Minister for Defence.  She has experience in experimental and applied research design, and has lectured and tutored psychology at both UNSW and Sydney University.  Her key personal research interest is in the future of work, and the application of research for use as evidence-based public policy.  Specifically she is interested in issues related to the union movement, the future of the Australia’s labour market, state and federal systems of workplace relations and improving workforce participation for women and people with disabilities.  Linda is currently completing a PhD in cognitive psychology at the University of Sydney, investigating the acquisition of memory for novel items and hence is also interested in skill development, training and expertise.
